Easy camping
This is near Turkwel Dam in West Pokot County. A beautiful view to wake up to.
The land is flat and the climate warm and water is near. Camping couldn't be easier.
Moderate camping
Quite cold at night and in the morning at 2900 m. But ground is flat and a mountain stream is close by. This is the campsite before the hike to the top of Kamologon (the top of the Cherangany Hills).
Family camping at campsite
An organised and safe campsite is essential when camping with young children. This is Crocodile Camp in Rimoi Reserve, Elgeyo Marakwet.
Family camping: Mealtime
Hard work for Dad, but a great experience for the kids. This is the formation of the next generation of campers. Just make sure you don't forget the matchsticks and the tents are waterproof. This camp is on the shore of L. Baringo.
Family camping. A nocturnal crowd
Notice the tents are under a big protective canvas. This is an advisable option when with kids in the rainy season.
The campfire is essential to extend the family conversation late into the night.
Easy camping
Level and soft sand on the bank of a river and a warm climate. This camp is in West Pokot, near Uganda. Security can be an issue in such areas.
Try, if possible to be near the Chief's camp.
